October 26 - Dufferin Circle of Storytellers

The Dufferin Circle of Storytellers has been busy since its last event in April. We get requests to tell our tales at some really great places. Most recently, some of our storytellers offered a day of storytelling at Princess Elizabeth Primary School in Orangeville. In addition, a small group of our Storytellers donated their time to the Forefather’s Festival at Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville held on June 16, 2012.

In appreciation of the Storytellers’ time the Rotary Club of Orangeville made a donation, in the name of the Dufferin Circle of Storytellers, which allowed Rotary to vaccinate 42 children against polio in at-risk parts of the world.

Additionally, the Storytellers made a $500 donation earlier this year to the Dufferin Arts Council’s Artists in the Schools Program, towards a “storytelling option”.

On Friday, October 26, 2012 at 7 pm, you can join our regular storytelling group for a special Evening of Bestiary in the intimate surroundings of Historic Corbetton Church. Our program for the evening will include a collection of animal stories that teach us not only about four legged creatures, but a bit about humans as well. Refreshments and friendly conversation will follow in the Museum.

Tickets are $10, available at the Dufferin County Museum, BookLore in Orangeville, and the Jelly Craft Café in Shelburne.
