September 30 - Reed T. Cooper Bursary Deadline

Attention: All Local Artists! The Reed T. Cooper Bursary in Visual Arts is Here to Support Local Artists

Did you know?

The Reed T. Cooper Bursary in Visual Arts was established by the Dufferin Arts Council (DAC) in 2007 to assist mid‐career visual artists in Dufferin County with special projects, such as mounting an exhibition of visual art works, travelling for art/educational purposes, or exploring new ideas and techniques, to name but a few.

Did you know?

The Bursary is awarded annually, up to $3000, and recent and successful fundraising efforts mean that there is enough money to award the Bursary for many years into the future.

…so, here is your opportunity!

Visual artists in Dufferin County are encouraged to check out the Reed T. Cooper Bursary in Visual Arts by visiting DAC’s website or by contacting Arnold DeGraaff, DAC Board member in charge of Artist Suppor. (contact information below). Help us spread the word of the Bursary by sharing this information with local visual artists you know or come in contact with.

The Bursary can be used for many different types of projects:

Any professional artist who is a resident of Dufferin County, member of DAC, and who has worked for five years as an artist, is welcome to apply. Many different types of media are eligible, including but not limited to: painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, fibre arts, glass, wood, photography and digital/computer generated art.

All applications will be carefully and respectfully considered by a selection committee comprised of a member of the Cooper family, immediate Past President of the Dufferin Arts Council Board, a working artist from Dufferin County not applying for the Bursary, and the recipient of the previous year’s Bursary.

The deadline to submit applications each year is September 30th. Applications may be submitted at any time during the year between January 1st and September 30th
